News : Nov 2008 - Pilgrim is back!
The previous owner who featured in the "A car is born" video, Den Tanner is now once again the proud owner of Pilgrim. Stock of parts is still limited but things are starting to take shape. Good luck with it Den.

HOT News: 9 Oct 2009 - Pilgrim has gone Bust!
though don't despair or give up the dream, there are already several parties looking to take over the business once the dust settles and the Sumo will continue. With a bit of luck the company will come back stronger and better with some new management.
Check out the Cobra Club website for lots of interesting rumours and speculation on the why's and how's.

This site is for everyone who is building, built or interested in building a Pilgrim sumo Cobra replica. The site is open to anyone to read but also thanks to the way Wiki sites work, anyone can write or edit sections of this site (so please do). It is expected that sumo/cobra replics owners and builders will write most of the content.

This site is intended to be a technical reference site and build guide, its structure is loosely based on a logical order to building a sumo and matches to some degree the Sumo construction manual provided with the kits from Pilgrim. The advantage of this type of guide over a traditional manual is that it contains information from a wide range of experienced builders, link to suppliers, detailed photos etc etc.

This site is NOT intended to take the form of a discussion forum for peoples issues or ideas. If you want that kind of thing, check out http://www.cobraclub.com/ where you can find an almost unlimited amount of advice, discussion and banter about all things to do with cobra replicas.

The best type of information you can provide is the most general that will help the most people, if you've fitted an one-off component, please share the info, but don't replace a more general and useful set of information that's already there. Feel free to add another page and put a link to it at the bottom of the more general info:

Editing a page - Photos
Essentially you can change pretty much anything on the site, a very small number of pages are locked (such as this welcome page) but the rest are for you to edit and maintain.
Further details on how to edit pages available here:

To add a picture to a page there are 2 ways: if the picture is available from a URL you can simply use the Insert file wizard from the edit tool bar and then enter the URL. If the file is on your hard drive, you must come out of text edit mode, then at the bottom of the page you want to add the picture to is a "Files" option, click this and upload the file, then you can go back to edit mode and insert as per a URL file using the Add Image Wizard tool button, the picture should appear when you select the "attached files" radio button. If the picture is large, please shrink it a bit on your PC before uploading it to help save disk space on the server.

Here's one I prepared earlier.

For pictures its generally best to centre them and choose the "500 on longest side" option to let the page auto shrink it.

If you know how to, please shrink photos to around 500 pixels wide or use the option on the upload facility, you'll see what I mean when you try, it's really simple.

Privacy, Security and Copyright
Essentially there is none, if you write it here it's public and anyone can read it and most probably edit it. Any changes can be easily undone if you get something wrong or change your mind.
If you're not happy with anything that is written please contact site admin and perhaps we'll sort something out.

Under no circumstances should you paste any material that is copyrighted. If you find any info on this site that you believe is yours and you did not give permission for it to be published here please delete it and/or contact admin.

Safety and Responsibility

Due to the nature of this site, it must be understood that any information or advice given is not that of a professional and is just from the experience of enthusiast car builders who are happy to share their knowledge for free, although all information will be given with the best intentions, we cannot guarantee that the advice will lead to safe practices. If you in anyway suspect that the advice given will lead to unsafe practices or damage to you or your property you should stop and seek professional advice before continuing.

Advertising
this site is not intended to be used for advertising, you are most welcome to list or recommend suppliers in the "Supplier Links" section but you should not blatantly advertise any companies or products beyond a normal recommendation.
Any negative feedback on any parts of services you have experienced during your build should be kept factual and brief.

Other than that, get writing and enjoy the site.
